TIRES & PRESSURE

Tire choice and pressure influence rolling feel, traction, comfort, and control. There is no universal pressure that is correct for every rider, tire, rim, surface, and weather condition.

01

Inspect before setting pressure

Check tread, sidewalls, bead seating, valve condition, and wheel security. Do not ride a damaged tire or a tire that is not seated correctly.

02

Respect product limits

Stay within the tire and rim manufacturer’s stated limits. Use a reliable gauge and remember that different pumps and gauges can read differently.

03

Consider the full situation

Rider mass, tire volume, casing, rim width, track surface, moisture, temperature, and riding style all affect the useful starting point.

04

Create a repeatable baseline

Begin from a coach- and manufacturer-informed setting, record it, then make small controlled changes. Stop if handling becomes unpredictable or the tire risks bottoming or losing traction.
